About the app
What is Electrician Pro X?
Electrician Pro X is business management software for electrical contractors. It brings estimating, invoicing, online payments, lead management, job scheduling, and crew management together in one platform, alongside 31 calculators and 27 reference tables based on the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC). It runs on iOS, Android, and the web at app.electricianprox.com, with a single account across all three. Electrician Pro X is developed by Pro X Trades LLC, an Oregon company, and was built by a master electrician. Plans start at $9.99 per month, and a free plan is available.
Who it's for
Electrician Pro X is built for electrical contractors who want to run their business professionally and efficiently, from the first estimate to the final payment.
- Owner-operators who manage their own estimating, billing, and code compliance, and want every document a client receives to reflect the quality of their work.
- Electrical contracting companies with field crews. Owners invite their electricians, assign and schedule jobs, and review time cards from one account. Crew members join at no additional cost.
It is designed around how contracting work is actually done:
- Estimating on site. Build a detailed estimate at the client's location and deliver it by text or email before you leave. The client can review it, sign, and pay a deposit online.
- Invoicing at job completion. Convert the accepted estimate into an invoice and send the client a secure payment link. Payment by card or bank transfer is recorded on the invoice automatically.
- Code compliance in the field. Verify ampacity with adjustment factors, voltage drop on long runs, or conduit fill against NEC 2023 tables. The calculators work without a cellular connection on iOS and Android.
Core capabilities
Estimates
You build estimates from line items, which you can mark as labor or material and group under section headings. Prices come from your Price Book, which holds your flat-rate services and your materials at cost plus your markup. You can add a discount, a required deposit, and contract terms. You send the estimate by text, email, PDF, or a copied link, and the customer can accept it, decline it, or request changes from the link. The estimate shows when the customer has viewed it. Estimates with contract terms are signed with a typed-name e-signature. On paid plans, AI Estimate Assist drafts materials, labor hours, and pricing from a plain-language job description, using your own service prices where they apply.
ExampleA contractor quoting a 200 A service upgrade describes the scope in AI Estimate Assist, reviews the proposed materials against their Price Book, requires a 30% deposit, and sends the estimate before leaving the site. The homeowner signs and pays the deposit online, and an invoice is created with the deposit already applied.
Invoices
You create invoices from scratch or from an estimate, with payment terms from Due on Receipt to Net 60. You send them by text, email, or PDF. On paid plans, customers pay online by card or ACH bank transfer through Stripe, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. With Stripe connected, you can also take a card in person on an Android phone with Tap to Pay. You can also list Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle, or Square on the invoice, and record cash or check payments by hand. Invoices show as Draft, Pending, Partial, Paid, or Overdue, and you get an inbox alert when one goes overdue. Invoices and expenses can sync to QuickBooks Online.
ExampleAt the end of a service call, the contractor converts the estimate to an invoice and sends the client a payment link. The client pays by card, and the invoice is marked Paid before the crew leaves the site.
Jobs
A job holds the client, location, notes, status (Scheduled, In Progress, Completed), a task checklist, and photos. You can mark up photos with a pen, arrows, text, and boxes. Each job tracks clock-in hours, expenses, mileage at the IRS rate, and its linked estimates and invoices. Jobs appear in a list on the Jobs tab and on the calendar in the Schedule tab, and the iOS and Android apps can add them to Google Calendar. On the Crew plan, you can assign jobs to crew members, who don't see the job's pricing.
ExampleOn a kitchen remodel rough-in, the contractor creates a job, annotates a photo of the panel to document the new circuits, records the supply-house receipt as an expense, and logs the mileage. At closeout, the job shows total labor hours, expenses, and payments collected.
Leads
New inquiries arrive in one place, with an instant notification. Each account includes a hosted Request a Quote form, branded with your business name and logo, that you can link to or embed on your website. Clients describe the work and attach photos, and the request appears in your leads immediately. Leads from Thumbtack, Angi, Facebook, Google Ads, and other services connect through Make or Zapier. Any lead converts to an estimate or a scheduled job, and the client record is created for you.
NEC calculators
The app has 31 calculators and 27 NEC reference tables based on the 2023 NEC. Calculators that apply a code rule cite the NEC section, and every calculator reminds you to check your locally adopted edition and AHJ. They're free on every plan and work offline on iOS and Android.
ExampleBefore pulling conductors for a 150-foot feeder to a detached garage, the contractor enters the load, voltage, and distance in the Voltage Drop calculator to confirm the conductor size that keeps voltage drop under 3%.
Also included
Client records, crew time cards (emailed or shared as a PDF), expense tracking with receipt photos and AI receipt scanning on paid plans, and a business dashboard showing revenue, profit or loss, expenses by category, and mileage. A tax-year report exports to Excel for your accountant, with income received, expenses organized by IRS Schedule C line, a mileage log, and 1099 contractor totals. Outstanding and overdue balances are shown at the top of the Invoices tab.
What the NEC calculators cover
All 31 calculators are based on the 2023 NEC. Section numbers show the main code references each one uses.
