1
Add an expense
Open the More menu and tap Expenses (on the web app, it's in the left sidebar), then tap the + button (Add Expense on the web app). Enter the Amount, a Description, the Category (materials, fuel & vehicle, tools & equipment, permits & fees, and more), the Date, and the Vendor. Link it to a Job to track that job's true cost, and use Attach photo to keep a picture of the receipt.
2
Scan receipts
Instead of typing everything in, tap Scan receipt and snap a photo — EPX fills in the amount, vendor, and date for you. Review the details, make any corrections, and save. Receipt scanning is included with the Solo and Crew plans.
Scan receipts at the supply house counter before they end up crumpled on the dash — every receipt captured is deductible cost you won't lose track of.
3
Track job profitability
Expenses linked to a job appear in the Financial section of that job, next to what you've collected, so you can see what the job actually cost you — not just what you billed. You can also add an expense straight from the job with + Add.
4
Sync to QuickBooks
Once QuickBooks Online is connected in Settings → Integrations, tap the Sync button at the top of the Expenses screen (it shows how many are waiting, for example Sync 3, or Sync 3 to QuickBooks on the web app) to send your unsynced expenses — no double entry. See the Payments guide for setup.
